What Electronic Clock is

Electronic Clock is a full-screen digital clock app that shows the current time, date and local weather. It is designed to collect as little data as possible.

Data stored on your device

Only your display preferences are written to the device (via the operating system's preference store: SharedPreferences on Android / NSUserDefaults on iOS):

• Font, text size, text colour, background colour
• Weekday language (Chinese / English / Japanese)
• App language
• Whether the Do Not Disturb hint card has been seen
• The "auto Do Not Disturb while the clock is showing" switch

Nothing else is written to the device. Weather results and location coordinates are held in memory only and are gone when the app closes. There is no account, no usage history, no analytics event log and no location history on the device.

Developer-operated backend

None. The developer operates no server that receives data from the app. The app's only outbound connection is to MET Norway's public weather API (below). This privacy / support website is static pages only — no forms, no analytics code, no data collection.

Cloud sync & backup

Electronic Clock has no cloud sync or backup feature and uploads nothing to any cloud drive or developer server. Your operating system's own device backup (Android Auto Backup, iOS iCloud / computer backup) may include that small settings file according to your backup settings; it contains no personal or location data.

Location & third-party services

If you grant location permission, the app reads your device's current location, rounds it to about 1 km (2 decimal places), and sends only that approximate coordinate to MET Norway's api.met.no to get local temperature and conditions. Weather refreshes every 30 minutes. Location is used only for this request and is processed ephemerally — it is not stored on the device or anywhere else.

What MET Norway receives:

• The rounded, approximate latitude/longitude (about 1 km)
• Your IP address (inherent to any network request)
• The app's User-Agent string (ElectronicWeatherApp/1.0)

These coordinates are not sent to the developer, not stored, and not linked to any identifier or device ID. MET Norway's handling of data is governed by its own license and terms. No third party other than MET Norway receives any data from the app.

OAuth permissions & scopes

None. The app has no sign-in, uses no Google, Apple, Facebook or other OAuth, and requests no OAuth scopes.

Google Drive

Electronic Clock does not use Google Drive or any other cloud drive. Therefore:

• It requests no Google Drive scope (no drive.appdata, no drive.file, none)
• It does not access the app data folder, and it does not access anything outside the app data folder
• It cannot read, list or modify any of your files in Google Drive or any other cloud service
• There is nothing to "unlink", and there is no backup that could remain in the cloud after unlinking

Device permissions

• Location (optional): to look up local weather. If denied, the clock works normally, just without weather.
• Do Not Disturb / notification-policy access (Android only, optional): used only when you turn on "auto Do Not Disturb". The app reads and changes the system DND level on the device only; that information never leaves the device.
• Internet: to fetch weather from MET Norway.
• Keep screen awake: so the screen does not sleep when used as a desk clock.

Advertising, analytics & tracking

None. The app contains no advertising SDK, analytics SDK, crash-reporting SDK or attribution SDK. It does no cross-app or cross-site tracking and uses no advertising identifier (IDFA / GAID).

Data retention & deletion

Display settings stay on the device until you change them or uninstall the app. Weather and location are never written to storage — they exist only in memory and are gone when the app closes. There is no server-side data to delete because there is no server.

• To stop all location use: revoke this app's location permission in system settings.
• To clear display settings: reset this app's data in system settings, or uninstall.
• To remove everything: uninstall the app. If you use your OS device backup, also clear that backup copy in your backup settings.

Children's privacy

Electronic Clock is a general-purpose utility, not directed to children, and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. There are no ads, no analytics, no accounts and no social features.

Changes to this policy

If the app's behaviour changes, this page will be updated and the effective date above adjusted.
